Situated 200 metres from the temple itself, is the Manohara Centre for Borobudur Study. Manohara welcomes travellers, as a space for reflection and enjoyment of the Borobudur temple. An extensive library of material on Borobudur is available to guests, and is closely linked to the Borobudur Conservation Office should further information be sought.


The centre can accommodate those who wish to spend the night in its modest rooms, and many people do in order to have access to the temple at an early hour to see the sunrise.

manohara_roomThe sunrise tour departs from Manohara early in the morning, and tickets are available at reception, on the morning of your visit. Rooms have air conditioning, and WiFi internet is available in the lobby area. For those who wish to get some exercise or visit surrounding local villages during their time at Manohara, bicycles are also available.

Manohara restaurant, in a traditional Javanese open sided pavilion, has a view of the temple. The cuisine is traditional Indonesian, and is open to both guests and the public.
